My 4th great-grandfather JOHN RICHEY served during the Revolutionary War in the 7th Virginia Regiment under Colonels Crawford & Gibson. After the war he removed to Shelby Co., Kentucky where he owned land and farmed along Elk Creek. In the early 1800's his sons Joseph, Abraham and John migrated to Scott Co., Indiana. In 1850 his grandson Anderson left Indiana and settled in Jasper Co., Iowa. Milton built this home for Electa and in its time was said to be one of the finest in northwestern Iowa. She lived in it only about a year and then died of pneumonia. It still stands today in altered condition following a fire in the early 1940's and has been a funeral home since the family sold it.
