| We are researching the Hess, Wall, Hallock, Herdman, and Hubbard families who lived in Pennsylvania in the early 1800's. Samuel J. Hess was born in 1865 and married Carrie A. Herdman. Samuel J. was the son of Civil War Veteran, Samuel R. Hess. We are also looking in Hungary (Szikszo) for the Gecsei family. John Gecsei and family (wife is Julia Czako) immigrated to the US in 1909 and 1913. In addition we are researching in England for the Sowerby family. George Sowerby was born in England in 1894. His father was Thomas Sowerby from England, who later moved to Australia. George's mother was Elizabeth Ann Bourne, who was born in 1872 in England. George and Elizabeth Sowerby had 3 children, Thomas Sowerby, Barbara Sowerby, and Shirley Gloria Sowerby. Samuel J. Hess was born in 1865 in Pennsylvania and married Carrie A. Herdman, born July 1867. Carrie was the daughter of William Herdman, born 1823 and Maria Austin, born 1832. Other Hurdman children included Charles Herdman, Henry Herdman, Gowen Herdman, Margrett Herdman, Libbie Herdman, Aloce Herdman, and Sarah Herdman. Sisters of Samuel J. were Jennie L. Hess and Maggie R. Hess. Parents were Samuel R. Hess, born Jan 4, 1840 (as the son of George Hess) and Murilla Walton. Children were Leroy Gowen Hess, Ralph Hess, Francis Hess, Mary Hess, Helen Hess, Wheeler Hess. Thomas Sowerby married Elizabeth Ann Bourne, born in 1872. Children were George Sowerby, born Sept. 1894, William Sowerby, Amy S. Sowerby, born 1893, Louise Sowerby (married Robert Thompson), Mary Sowerby, (married Robert Lundberg), Eleanor S. Sowerby, born 1904, (married Donovan A. Ide), and Thomas Sowerby, born April 1902. Janos Czako was born in 1835 in Hungary. He married Borbala Szantai in Szikszo, Hungary. Children were Julianna Czako, Borbala Czako, and Gabor Czako. Julia Czako married Janos Gecsei, son of Mihay Gecsei and Elizabeth Juhasz. Their children were Elizabet Gecsei, Istvan Gecsei, Janos Gecsei, William Gecsey and Jolan Gecsei, who married Al Boros. William Gecsei married Kleo Genes. John Wall was born in 1785 in Rhode Island and he married Priscilla Headley. He came to Pennsylvania c.a. 1810. Their Children were John Wall, Hannah Wall, Ruth Wall, Samuel Headley Wall, Permilla Wall, Charlotte Wall, Daniel Benjamin Wall, Delilah Wall, and Dennis Wall, who married Ursula Hubbard. Dennis and Ursula Wall had these children: Harrison Hubbard Wall, Dennis Wall, Sylvester Hubbard Wall, Henry Wall, Harvey C. Wall, Sarah A. Wall, Harriet F. Wall, James Buchanan Wall, and Herbert B. Wall. Harrison Wall married Sarah Anna Hallock. Priscilla Headley's parents were Samuel Headley, born 1759, and Hannah MacAfee, born 1760. Samuel's father was Isaac Headley, born 1733. Eli Hallock married Eunice Armstrong, and had a child named Eli Rogers Hallock, born about 1818; other children included Albert William Hallock, Horace Hallock, and Calvin D. Hallock. Eli Rogers Hallock married Mary Jane Jaques and had the following children : Sarah Anna Hallock, Mary Hallock, Robert Hallock, Henry Jaques Hallock, Susie Dodge Hallock, Almira Hallock, Eliza Hallock, Jesse Hallock, and Harvey Hallock. Eli's father was Richard Hallock, born 1754, who's parents were Israel Hallock, born 1731, and Mary Albertson, born 1732. Israel's parents were Zebulon Hallock, born 1694, and Martha Reeves. Zebulon's father was William Hallock, born 1667. William's parents were William Hallock, born 1620, and Margaret Howell. William's father was Peter Hallock, born 1600. Mary Jane Jaques parents were Robert Jaques, born 1778, and Mary Coleman, born 1784. Mary Coleman's parents were John Coleman, born 1760, and Martha Smith, born 1767. Eunice Armstrong's parents were James A. Armstrong, born 1768, and Martha Halstead, born 1764. James parents were Robert Armstrong, born 1730, and Margaret Thompson.
