56. DAVID⁴ VANN (MARGARET³ MCSWAIN, NANNIE (FAWLING)² DOWNING, JOHN¹) was born January 01, 1800 in Cave Spring, Floyd Co, GA, and died December 23, 1863. He married (1) JANE CHAMBERS Bef. 1825. She was born Abt. 1808, and died December 02, 1863. He married (2) MARTHA P MCNAIR October 09, 1828, daughter of DAVID MCNAIR and DELILAH VANN. She was born September 18, 1812 in Conasauga, TN, and died February 27, 1875.

Notes for DAVID VANN:
David Vann was a member of the Ross Party and Treasurer of the Cherokee Nation in the 1840's.

The Drennen listing for this family group includes a Joseph L Vann and a William L Vann. The Joseph in Strar's listing is a twin to Martha and they were born October 04, 1852. Starr's compilation does not include William and his Joseph was born after the Drennen roll. It's possable that Joseph and William were infants recorded on the Drennen roll but that they died shortly afterward. The next children born would have been twins, a boy and a girl, that were named Martha and Joseph. I've seen many other occurances where a child is given the name of a deceased sibling.
