165. MOSES F⁵ ALBERTY (MARY⁴ WRIGHT, JENNIE³ CRITTENDEN, NANNIE (FAWLING)² DOWNING, JOHN¹) was born April 22, 1820, and died April 15, 1872. He married (1) ELIZABETH JANE WELCH Bef. 1840, daughter of DAVID WELCH and ELIZABETH MCSWAIN. She was born November 11, 1811 in Tennessee, and died Abt. 1862. He married (2) ELIZABETH BUFFINGTON June 15, 1844, daughter of ELLIS BUFFINGTON and LYDIA WRIGHT. She was born August 01, 1827, and died Aft. 1902.

Notes for MOSES F ALBERTY:
Justice of the Middle Circuit of the Cherokee Nation from 1855 to 1859 and was elected Executive Councilor in 1867. He was the chief attorney for Ezekial Proctor who was charged with the murder at the time of the Going Snake court house fight in 1872 and during the fight he was shot and killed by what was supposed to have been an accidental stray shot.
