25. ASBURY ALEXANDER HULL⁵ HILL (RACHEL⁴, MARY E. "POLLY"³, RIAL², JAMES¹) was born January 09, 1868 in Rutherford Co., NC, and died October 01, 1919 in Rutherford Co., NC. He married (1) MARY JANE HARDIN December 17, 1908 in Rutherford Co., NC. She was born 1879. He married (2) LAURA HICKS KISER April 09, 1909 in Rutherford Co., NC, daughter of JOHN KISER and TOMMIE LNU. She was born June 06, 1876 in Rutherford Co., NC, and died February 24, 1961 in Rutherford Co., NC.

Notes for ASBURY ALEXANDER HULL HILL:
He, at different times, went by all the listed names. The birth certificates of his children listed him as Hull Aleck Hill, Hull Hill, Asbury Hull Hill and Asbury Alexander Hull Hill. He was living, with his mother, in the home of his grandmother, Mary, during the time of the 1870 and 1880 census. In the 1870 census he was identified as Alexander, age 2, and in the 1880 census as Elender H. Hill, age 12. Hull Hill, age 40, married Mary Bradley, age 38, in Rutherford County, NC, on 17 Dec 1908. I am assuming this is Mary Jane Hardin who is the mother of several of Hull's children. Hull married Laura Hicks Kiser, daughter of John and Tommie Kiser, on 9 Apr 1909. Hull's son, Ed Hill, provided the information on his death certificate and indicated that Hull was a farmer and that his father's last name was Johnson. Hull and Laura are buried in the Cool Springs Cemetery in Forest City, NC. I could not locate their graves.

Lillie's family lived in the King's Mountain, NC area. Lillie was in possession of the family bible that was used to establish the delayed birth certificates for the family.

Carrie Lee died just three weeks after her father. She is buried in Cool Springs Cemetery, Rutherford Co., NC. I could not locate her grave.

He married (1) ODESSA MCLEMORE, daughter of JOHN MCLEMORE. She was born April 28, 1882 in Rutherford Co., NC, and died October 06, 1959 in Rutherford Co., NC. He married (2) LENORA SUSAN HARDIN May 03, 1894 in Rutherford Co., NC, daughter of L.C. HARDIN and MATTIE MOORE. She was born January 16, 1873 in Rutherford Co., NC, and died August 15, 1910 in McDowell Co., NC.

Marriage License: James Ellick Hill, 21, son of William A. Hill, living, and L. Hill, dead, married Sallie Crawford, 18, daughter of Margaret Crawford, 9 April 1891 at S.J. Shulhofer's Store in Waynesville.

Fletcher Hill told me that Jim Ellick left Haywood County about 1900 and did not return until 1932. He lived with his brother, Bud Hill, until his death.

William Anderson Hill told me that Jim Hill killed a "Nigger" in the Biltmore section of Buncombe County, NC and served some time on the chain gang for beating his wife.
