12. DON E.⁴ HINES (HARVEY HENSON³, JOHN HENRY², JOHN CARAWAY¹) was born September 09, 1918 in Adair County, Oklahoma, and died December 09, 1999 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He married PAULINE KIRKPATRICK, daughter of ROBERT KIRKPATRICK and RUTH THOMAS. She was born March 11, 1920 in Norman, Oklahoma, and died October 1983 in Shawnee, Oklahoma.

Notes for DON E. HINES:
Don was born in Adair County and graduated from High School in Norman, Oklahoma. He attended Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, Oklahoma, studying business administration. He married Pauline Kirkpatrick and his first job was as a civilian property and supply officer for Tinker Air Force Base. He was a partner in the Hines Motor Company in Shawnee in the 1940's. He then went to work for Jonco Aircraft Company in Shawnee while running a cattle ranch in St. Louis, Oklahoma. He later went to work for North American Rockwell, Bethany Division while living in Oklahoma City. He and Pauline then moved to Norman where he became Purchasing Agent for the city of Norman. He retired from working for the city of Norman in 1979 to help take care of Pauline who was diagnosed with breast cancer. He and Pauline moved into his father's house in Shawnee at 1202 E. Independence. After Pauline died in 1983, don moved to Oklahoma City on 325 S.W. 66th Street. He died of respiratory failure secondary to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease at Deaconess Hospital Intensive Care Unit on December 9, 1999.

Pauline was born and raised in Norman, Oklahoma. She graduated from Norman High School. She had four brothers, Tom, Carl, Norman W. (Bud), and Raymond. She helped raise twin nieces, Sue Carol and Betty Darrel after their father Raymond was killed riding a steer in Texas. She had two sons, Jerry and Ronald, and an adopted daughter, Paula Kay. Pauline was very proud of her family and she had many friends throughout her life as she and Don and the children moved to various residences. One of her long time friends was Jane Lindsay. Other friends include Theta Richardson, Vie Rainey, Cecil Hinton, Floy Shawn, Mrs. Pfiefer, Mrs. Franklin, and many others.

14. NOEL H.⁴ HINES (HARVEY HENSON³, JOHN HENRY², JOHN CARAWAY¹) was born July 20, 1914, and died December 29, 1994. He married MARY MOUNT. She was born September 23, 1919.

15. ERVIN L.⁴ JETER (MINTIE A.³ HINES, JOHN HENRY², JOHN CARAWAY¹) was born 1897, and died December 31, 1971 in Okemah, Oklahoma. He married VIVIAN.

Following his father's footsteps, Ervin was a sheriff in Okfulskee County, Oklahoma.

16. LLOYD⁴ HINES (OSCAR JAMES³, JOHN HENRY², JOHN CARAWAY¹) was born October 05, 1912, and died August 21, 1991. He married MARGARET. She was born October 07, 1914, and died September 29, 1998.

17. BURL⁴ HINES (OSCAR JAMES³, JOHN HENRY², JOHN CARAWAY¹) was born July 23, 1908, and died October 30, 1996. He married (1) THELMA SAUNDERS. He married (2) OPAL.

Notes for BURL HINES:
Burl was married before he and Thelma were married and he had a son. Burl and Thelma lived in Tulsa after the Hines homestead was sold. He worked there in the oil fields. He then decided he would like to have a dairy farm and eventually bought land very close to the "red hill".

Notes for THELMA SAUNDERS:
Thelma was originally from Colorado. Her father had a heart condition and the doctor told him he needed to move to a lower altitude. He loaded his family up in a truck and a car and headed for Arkansas. While stopping in Oklahoma near Asher, they decided to stay there. I visited with Thelma on May 31, 2000 and learned a lot from her about the Hines family. She was living in the house where she and Burl raised there family. At that time she was 85 years old and sharp as a tack. She remembered every child, grandchild and great grandchild, and their birthdays. She showed me the Oak Grove Cemetery where Lou V. is buried and then we drove to the "red hill" where the Hines Family Reunion picture was taken. She told me she received rent from an oil company for pumping oil from her land. She thought it was unfair that the oil companies could use your land without paying you for the use of it. She was told that you could not do that, so she went to a lady attorney in Shawnee and had the papers drawn up stating that the oil company would have to pay her rent. The oil company agreed, and to this day she gets a yearly rent check.
