The 1861 census for Warwick Township, Lambton County, Ontario reflected Noble's age at 37 years (born in 1824); occupation: laborer; he is listed along with his son: Samuel. The census for 1871 in Warwick Township, Lambton County, Ontario reflected his age at 47 years (born in 1824) and a widower, he was living with his brother and sister-in-law: John & Ellen. The 1891 census for Warwick Township, Lambton County, Ontario reflected his age at 68 years old (born 1823); he is listed as a widower, born in Ireland; occupation: farmer; and living with his brother and sister-in-law: John and Ellen along with their 10 children; church affiliation: Church of England. A letter written by Sarah E. Howden to Jack Stewart dated Oct 4, 1953 indicated that Dr George N. Howden and Noble Howden were named after this Noble. The letter indicated that Noble was an alcoholic and something of a tramp. He used to come back to John's peniless to spend his winters.

John's obituary stated that he first located in Caledon, Peel Co, Ontario (no records could be located in Caledon), then moved to Warwick, Lambton County, Ontario in 1855, residing on Lot 27, Concession 1, SER. Concession 1 was the first concession or row of lots South of the Egremont Road. John was also included in the records of John Keith Howden. The 1861 census for Warwick Township, Lambton County, reflected his age at 30 years old (born in 1831); occupation: farmer; religious affiliation: Church of England; born in Ireland. Later John and brother Samuel lived on adjoining farms in Lambton County. The 1871 census for Warwick Township, Lambton County reflected his age at 43 years old (born in 1828); he is listed along with his wife: Ellen and 6 children. The 1881 census for Warwick Township, Lambton County reflected his age as 52 years old (born 1829), born in Ireland, occupation farmer, and affiliated with the Church of England; he is listed with his wife: Ellen and 10 children along with his brother: Noble, age 58 (born 1823). The census for 1891 in Warwick, Lambton Co, Ontario lists his age as 64 years old (born in 1827), along with his wife Ellen (age 47, b. 1844), 10 children. The family bible reflects death as August 9, 1905 which is repeated on his headstone inscription in St Paul's Anglican Church Cemetery in Wisbeach, Lambton County which reads: died August 9, 1905, age 79 years, 2 months (born 1826). Helen, wife of John Howden, died February 4, 1909 in her 65th year (born 1844). John's obituary stated: "The late Mr. John Howden, whose death took place on August 9th, was born in Enniskillen, County of Fermanagh, Ireland, in 1826. He came to Canada in 1835, sailing from Londonderry, the voyage taking 13 weeks and 3 days. He first located in Caledon, coming to Warwick in 1855, where he continued to reside on Lot 27, con 1, SER to the time of his death. In 1860 he was married to Helen Watson, and is survived by the following family: Mrs. H. Stoner, Bosanquet; Mrs. Wm. Willoughby, Ithaca, Mich; Mrs. D. Hamilton, Watford; Esther Kate and Mattie, Detroit; Lulu, Watford; William, at home; John and David, Toronto, and George, dental student. Deceased was highly esteemed in the community for his kind and genial disposition. In politics he was a staunch Conservative, and a member of the Church of England. The funeral took place to the Wisbeach cemetery on August 11, and was largely attended. The service was conducted by the Rev. W. M. Shore. The pall bearers were old neighbors: Jas. Orr; D. Watson; Wm, Watson; Ben Parker and John Downham".
      The wedding announcement for John's daughter Jennie to Mr. Wm. Willoughby, of Watford, was published on February 18, 1887. The wedding took place at the residence of Mr. John Howden, Main Road, Warwick.

Lived in Toronto in 1905. Became a Dentist in Moosejaw, Saskatchewan; his son became an Optomologist in Palm Springs, California. His funeral notice dated 7 May 1952 stated; The funeral service for Dr. David Samuel Howden, 81, of 522 Stadacona St W, who passed away in a local hospital "Friday, was held at the W. J. Jones and Son Funeral Chapel ysterday. Ven. Archdeacon S. Williams, D.D. of St Johns Anglican Church Officiating. Organ music was played durin the service by Mrs. S. P. Reed. Burial was made in Rosedale Cemetery, pallbearer, all members of the I.O.O.F, being J.A. McGregor, J.A. Brooks, J.W. Beesley, Fred Dunford, E. Mountain and J. Bremner.
      An article in the MooseJaw newspaper indicated that Dr David Samuel Howden, 81, passed away in hospital here this morning (May 3, 1952) after a lingering illness. He had been quarantied to his home, 522 Stadacona St, W for a year. An enthusiasticd traaeler, Dr. Howden visited his native Ontario regularly during his many years in the west. Perhaps his only other chief hobby was farming and in his earlier years he supervised work on two farms he operated in the district. He shared offices with Dr. N.E. Betzner in the Bank of Hamilton building for years, and prior o his retirement nearly ten years ago, was located in the Hammond Building. Dr Howden was born in Watfor, Ontario and took his training in dentistry at the Unifversity of Toronto and in Chicago. He came west to Calgary in 1903 and ive years later ommenced practice in Moose Jaw. He ontinued as one of the leading dental practitioners until retiring due to ill health in 1943. Although he maintained his membership in a Toronto Lodge, Dr Howden was active in the work of the local I.O.O.F. lodges and was popular among Odd Fellows here. Predeceased by his wife in 1921, Dr Howden is surived by a son, Dr. Gordon Howden of Maple Creek, two brothers, Dr. George Howden of Watford, Ontario and John Howden of Toronto; three sisters Miss Laura Howden, Miss Mattie Howden and Mrs. Katherine Dykeman all of Algomac, Michigan. Two grandchildren also survive.
