Notes for EARL HEZEKIAH STONER: Source Notes: The Stoner Family History was compiled by Cecil and Lena Stoner in 1974. Earl attended School Section No. 6, which was located on the corner of the family farm near Arkona, Lambton Co, Ontario. Earl and Mary farmed near Arkona, and later purchased a farm near Woodstock, Oxford County, Ontario. There he became the custodian of the Talbot Street Baptist Church, and became a member of the Talbot Church Choir. Earl was also a member of the Stoner Quartette. He was an experienced carpenter and later worked for George White Company of London, Middlesex County, Ontario. Earl developed a cancer which caused him to lose an eye and later spread throuhout his body, causing his death in July 1956. Earl was buried in the Arkona Cemetery. |

Notes for ARTHUR EDMUND STONER: Source Data: The Stoner family History was compiled and written by Cecil and Lena Stoner in 1974. Arthur attended School Secton No. 6, located on the edge of their family farm near Arkona, Lambton County, Ontario. Arthur and brother Orville purchased the homestead from their paraents in 1914. When Arthur married, the partnership on the farm was sold, and Arthur operated a garage in Arkona. Arthur served in the Canadian Army during WWII where he became an inspector of tanks and trucks. He was largely assigned at Camp Petawa. During the war Leah and family moved to 650 Waterloo Street, London, Middlesex County, Ontario to further the education of the family. After the war Arthur was employed at Central Chevrolet Garage, London, and later at Wolselly Barracks. He was also interested in choir and band and was a member of the Stoner Quartette. He retired in September 1959 and purchased a house at 1045 Waterloo Street in London, where he died of a heart attack on July 1, 1960. He was buried in Arkona Cemetery in Lambton County, Ontario. |

Notes for CECIL GEORGE STONER: Source Data: Cecil & Lena Stoner compiled and wrote the Stoner Family History in 1974. Cecil attended School Section No. 6, which was located on the edge of the family farm near Arkona, Lambton County, Ontario. After he finished school he went to Watford, Lambton County to apprentice for a jeweler. In 1915 he purchased a jewellery store in Parkhill, Middlesex County, Ontario where he ran a successful business for fifty years, retiring in August 1965. Cecil lived with his parents in Parkhill, and following the death of his father, made a home for his mother and younger brother Lawrence. After the death of his mother, Lawrence became Cecil's responsibility, who had become helpless as a result of sleeping sickness. With the help of a competent housekeeper he was able to carry out his responsibilities for another 17 years. On July 1, 1942 he married Mrs. Lena Cosens Box and gained a granddaughter, Lorna. Cecil was a very active in church work and was especially interested in the choir in the Parkhill Baptist Church. He, along with three other men: George Ronson, Ken McKenzie and Maurice Racey were very popular as a Quartette, singing at anniversary services and church suppers, etc. Cecil and his wife are now retired and living at 242 Hastings St, Parkhill, Middlesex County, Ontario. Notes for LUELLA M STONER: Source Data: Cecil and Lena Stoner compiled and wrote the Stoner Family History in 1974. Luella, the only daughter, and fifth child of Hezekiah and Mary Stoner was born April 22, 1897. She died of pneumonia on January 19, 1901 in her fourth year, and is buried in the Arkona Cemetery. |

Notes for LAWRENCE COPELAND STONER: Source Data: The Stoner Family History was compiled and written by Cecil and Lena Stoner in 1974. Lawrence started his schooling at School Section No. 6, located at the edge of the family farm near Arkona. He then attended Parkhill Public and High School in Middlesex County, and later the Stratford Normal School in Perth County, Ontario. He was looking forward to a promising career in teaching when he took ill with sleeping sickness, which left him unable to care for himself. He lived with, and was cared for, by his brother Cecil from 1924 until 1946. When it became impossible to give him home care, he became a patient in the East Windsor hospital in Essex County, Ontario. Lawrence died Octoer 7, 1958 and was buried beside his parents in the Arkona Cemetery. |
