Source Data: Edith was listed as Mrs. W. A. Olmstead in her father's obituary published in the Watford Guide on May 16, 1919. William had a business in Hannaford, N.D, but following marriage they decided to make their fortune in Canada. Dad's brother, Eugene had married a daughter of Benjamin Howden (brother of William, so the girls were cousins. Both families moved to what would become Robsart, Saskatcheway in 1910. The men came in the spring with their livestock and built the barns first. The women came later with household goods and 2 year old Benjamin Olmsted on his mother Bessies knene. Edith was an accomplished horsewoman so she drove the buggy from Maple Creek, a distance of 40 miles while the men maneuvered the loaded wagons.

      The following obituary was published in the Watford Guide Advocate on Friday August 2nd, 1935. The funeral of the late Chester W. Howden, son of the late Noble and Mrs. Howden, of Watford, who died in Byron Sanitorium, London on Thursday last after a long illness was held on Saturday afternoon, with a private service at the family residence in Sarnia, and internment in Watford Cemetery.
      C.W. Howden was a Watford boy, born and raised here, and after several years as a most successful sales representative for S. M. P. Metalware products, returned to his hometown at his father's death to take over the large grocery and hardware business established many years ago.
      To hundreds of friends throughout Watford District "Ches" Howden will be ever remembered for his fine character, courtesy and business ability, and passing is the loss of another link in the chain of Watford boys scattered throughout the continent.
      After selling his business, now owned by Carroll & Thompson, with his family he lived in London for several years, later moving to Sarnia, where his dauhter, Miss Sarah, is a member of the Collegiate teaching staff. One son, Wilson B. Howden, of the Bell Telephone Staff in Montreal, has been home for the past two weeks on vacation.
      Also surviving are his widow (formerly Lily Abbott, of Watford) and his mother Mrs. N. B. Howden, now of Sarnia. W. McKegney at Sarnia, and by Rev. J. H. Hosford at the graveside, where many Watford friends gathered as a last tribute to a lifelong friend. The pallbearers were Dr. G. N. Howden, Sam Burchill, Manforati Thompson, R. E. Prentis, E. A. Brown of Watford and Ralph Fritz of Sarnia.
      Among relatives from a distance present at the funeral were Mr. and Ms. Walter Howden, Peterboro; Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Howden, Kitchener; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Graham (Mable Howden) and son, Burlington; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Orr, London; Mrs. C. C. Abbott, Mrs Harry Abbott and son, Dr. Abbott, Michigan.
