Marshall Polk a Confederate Soldier and was killed in the Civil War.

	ii.		SARAH ELIZABETH POLK.

3. JACOB² GRIFFIN (OLLIN¹) was born 1828, and died 1911. He married LYDIA ROSS.

Notes for JACOB GRIFFIN:
Death record showed Jacob lived in Fairview, Union County, NC and was a farmer.

Children of JACOB GRIFFIN and LYDIA ROSS are:

	i.		MARY³ GRIFFIN.
	ii.		MARTHA GRIFFIN.
	iii.		OLLEN GRIFFIN.
	iv.		FRANCES GRIFFIN.
	v.		JOHN S. GRIFFIN.

4. ELIZABETH² GRIFFIN (OLLIN¹) was born February 15, 1839, and died February 21, 1928. She married THOMAS JAMES POLK. He was born August 23, 1835, and died April 26, 1897.

Children of ELIZABETH GRIFFIN and THOMAS POLK are:

	ii.		ELI FRANKLIN POLK.
	iii.		HERNY W. POLK.
	iv.		BILLY POLK.
	v.		ELLEN POLK.

5. ANDREW J.² GRIFFIN (OLLIN¹) was born July 05, 1840, and died August 18, 1916 in Union County ,NC. He married MARTHA ANN GRIFFIN March 22, 1860 in Union County ,NC, daughter of JEFFERSON GRIFFIN and POLLY AUSTIN. She was born July 1833, and died February 1907 in Union County ,NC.

Notes for ANDREW J. GRIFFIN:
Andrew and Martha Griffin are buried in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, New Salem, Union County, NC. Their son James and daughter Bedie married brothers and sisters, Adam and Eve Ellen Brooks.
Note: James and Mary Griffin are twins. The 1870 Census showed both James and Mary to be 10 years old. (check their dates of birth as listed in this report) More research will hopefully determine what their correct dates of birth are.
The 1880 census showed that Andrew and his family lived in New Salem Township,Union County, NC.

	v.	THOMAS GRIFFIN, b. 1869; m. ELLEN EDWARDS, October 26, 1890.
11.	vi.	JONAH W. GRIFFIN, b. March 07, 1875, Union County ,NC; d. February 27, 1963, Union County ,NC.
	vii.	MAGGIE GRIFFIN, b. 1879; m. JOHN C. AUSTIN, November 13, 1890.

6. JAMES HAMPTON² GRIFFIN (OLLIN¹) was born 1844, and died January 09, 1927. He married TRESSIE BROOM.
