Notes for W
ILEY BOWERS:
There has always been a strong belief among the descendants of Wiley Bowers that as a young man he emigrated from Germany to Anson County, NC. While doing research for this family tree we found strong evidence indicating that he was not born in Germany. The United States Census of Anson County for the years 1850, 1860, and 1870 showed that he was born in North Carolina. A family tree containing 825 members was submitted to the World Family Tree organization in June 1995. This family tree showed that Wiley Bowers was born in Montgomery County, NC. He was one of nine children born to John Bowers and Margaret Lipe Bowers. His parents, John and Margaret Bowers were both born in Cabarrus County, NC

The 1850, 1860 and 1870, US Census of Anson County NC, indicated that all members of Wiley Bowers household were born in NC. He lived in the Diamond Hill Township District of Anson County during the 1850 and 1860 Census. The 1870 Census listed him living in The Burnsville Township District. Diamond Hill was served by the Ansonville Post Office and Burnsville was served by the Wadesboro Post Office. Wiley Bowers name appears on a Family Tree with 825 other members. This information was submitted to the Family Tree Makers of The World in June, 1995. It showed he was one of nine children born to John Bowers And Margaret Lipe. Wiley was born in Montgomery County, NC and his parents were both born in Cabarrus County, NC.
