Samuel Birchel Goldy (son of William Corliss Goldy Gooldy and Mary Bennett) was born 24 March 1831 in Delaware Township, Camden County, New Jersey, and died 18 September 1882 in Waterford, Camden County, New Jersey. He married Elmiah Cain on 21 January 1854 in Camden, Camden County, New Jersey, daughter of James Cain and Sarah Southard.

He was living in Haddonfield at the time of his death. Undertaker- Samuel Jones, Moorestown, NJ He died from Bright's disease of the Kidney's His Headstone reads "In Memory of"
He paid $300.00 to get out of the Civil War Service. He was running a very prosperous farm, so he could afford it.
He lived in Waterford Twp., Gloucester County (became Camden County) In Oliphant letters he is said to have lived near Long-a-Coming, near Berlin, New Jersey.
He is mentioned in the will of Job Wilkins.
