Simon & his brother Ludwig received the 100 acre Johannes Rebenstock farm, from their father in May 1761. Then on June 8, 1770, Simon bought Ludwig's share of the homestead out, and Ludwig moved to Warwick Township in Bucks County. Simon sold out on Nov. 30, 1796, to Nicholas Jean LeBon D'Herbigny, a refugee from the French Revolution.
In the LDS film #20448 are listed Henry & Simon Sweitzer in the Philadelphia Militia. In 1779, Henry was a Private 4th Class in Capt. Dull's Company of the 1st Battalion. Simon a Pvt in Capt. James Irvine's Company 2d Battalion. Simon was in the 2d Battalion as early as April 1777. After the Continental defeat at Brandywine, Washington's Army retreated up through Germantown & Chestnut Hill. "The army's withdrawal from Philadelphia, coupled with the calling up of the 5th and 6th militia classes, which were put to work "throwing up small redoubts along the Schuykill from Swedesford down". Simon was in the 5th class at the time, and would have been involved in this work. (Quote is from Genealogical Magazine Vol XX pg 128)

Simon probably died sometime before August 1807, when his wife Barbara made out her will.
