Barbara was named as the recipient of a (family) bible in her father Francis Schunk's will.

In the 1810 census there is only one male, 10-15, (Simon Sweitzer b.1800), but 7 adult females, besides 1 female under 10, (Catharine b. ca. 1802) 3=26-45 and 4=over 45, in Barbara and Mary Sweitzer's home. Possibly running a boarding house for women. Their building is described as "3 SB" (3 story brick) "South West corner of Race & 4 Street" House number is "9" so it faced onto 4th Street as their neighbor Hannah Lauck is listed in the 1811 city directory as "grocer, 128 Sassafras"

Barbara Schweitzer of Philadelphia, widow of Simon Schweitzer, far advanced in years; dated August 10, 1807; legacy to friend Leonard Keimley of Philadelphia as a compensation for favours to her son Henry, deceased; grandson Simon, son of son Henry; daughter Debora, deceased; granddaughter Catharine, daughter of son Henry; sister Catharine Zieber; legacies as follows, to President of the corporation of the German Reformed Church of Philadelphia; Rachel wife of Philip Setzler; Maria, the widow of son Henry; Barbara, daughter of Ludwick Schweitzer; Catharine, wife of Frederick Zieber; Rebecca, daughter of Peter Schunk and Anna the wife of Jacob Funk; executors, Henry Schweitzer, senior, of the Township of Schippach, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, surveyor, Jacob Funck of Springfield Township, Bucks County, Pennsylvania, yoeman and Samuel Mechlin of Philadelphia; witnesses, Yost Hollobush, John Snyder and Jacob Mechlin; administration to Mary Schweitzer, widow, January 4, 1815. Samuel Mechlin one of the executors named, renounced. L, p. 214.
(Note: Leonard Keimley was probably Leonard Keehmle, "Register of German Passengers" who lived at 79 N 3rd Street as found in the 1811 and 1814 Philadelphia city directories. Possible brothers, John, M.D. and Samuel Keehmle, attorney, lived at 33 and 37 N 4th Street.)
