About Our Family Research

I have been searching for ancestors for a while now and I have traced several lines pretty far back, with the help of others of course. C. Ray Tankersley has done extensive research and done beautiful work on the history. He has the Lostdove site. Also, many others, have contributed as well. I have searched census records, land records, wills, marriage records, birth records, death records, archives, my Great grandmothers accounts of life, and anything else that I could possibly think of. I am still working on it. Doing genealogy work and peeking into the past, is a healthy way to step away from your reality and peer into another. It really helps one to realize our true mortality. These people, no matter how far back you go, still washed their clothes, cooked meals, sang songs, planted gardens, fell in love, married, argued, joked, told stories, loved their children, and so many other things, like we do today. True they may not have had the conveniences that we do, but nonetheless, they had to be done. There are so many things we take for granted. Researching history makes you sit back and realize how thankful we are to have the things that we have. I must say that I have done my best to update my sources, however, I have gotten most of it from distant cousins who had already done certain lines, and I wasn't able to copy all of their resources. There is always a margin of error in this particular field of research, especially the earlier you go. If you find anything at all that conflicts with your information, please let me know and we will fix it. I appreciate all of the information that my distant cousins have done. I only hope that I can aid in sharing the gifts that they gave to me by introducing me to my ancestors... namely, C. Ray Tankersley, Emmett Fontaine, Sarah M. White, Robert Zidlicky, Pat Anderson, Ronnie Land, and others. I also do volunteer research for Tulsa County, if you need it. Thanks
Sheri Hunter
