This work is the culmination of many years of research, not only on my own part, but various family members through the years. I am interested in any family that ties to the families listed here. I am also interested in any information on families that have lived or still live in Pocola, Oklahoma.
Surnames I am working on: Dailey, Rentz, Russell, Bachelor, Tankersley, Lawson, Lovell, Lovett, Creekmore, Batchelor
I would like to recognize the people that started me on my genealogy road: Milton Dailey and Wanda Rentz Dailey, my mom and dad, they are two of the best people I know.
Also, Clayton Russell - my mother's cousin, and Drama Dalton Brewer - my daughter's paternal grandmother, they both amassed troves of material many years before the internet. Not just gathered information, but freely shared their work. I will miss them both.
My two grandmothers, Goldie Elsie Russell, born 1888, Van Zandt County, Texas and Maggie Hester Lawson, born 1906, McCurtain, Indian Territory.
They both travelled different roads in this life, in spite of their many differences they shared an ancestor - Stephen Batchelor. I was blessed to have them both, I am who I am due to the influence these two ladies had on my life, they are gone but never forgotten...
