Notes for H
ENRY BARTHOLOMEW:
Henry Bartholomew was born in 1728 in Zwei Brucken , in Rhenish Bavaria on the Erbach River. In 1751, at the age of 23 , Henry migrated to what later became Allen Township, Pa.
This was a very dangerous time for early settlers and Indian raids were common. He was a weaver by profession and had three sons: Henry (Henrich), Lewis (Ludwig), and Peter.
Henrich as born on September 23,1758, and Ludwig was born late in Henry's life on September 9, 1791. Peter's birthdate is unknown. Henry purchased a farm on the road leading from Easton to Lehigh Gap in 1798. In his will dated April 7, 1804, Henry bequested to his son Henrich, the "plantation" where he, Henry lived. Ludwig was given the land where he lived, and Peter, presumably the youngest, shared in the remainer of the estate. Henry died on September 7, 1807, and is buried in Zion's Lutheran Reformed churchyard near Kreidersville about 15 miles NW of Easton in Allen Twp.

As was noted above, Lewis(ludwig) was the second son of Henry and was born on September 9, 1791. Lewis married Anna Marie Smith who was born on January 25, 1793.
They had one son, Joshua who was born on February 4, 1822. Joshua married Sarah Ann Bleiler, born March 22 1825. Joshua and Sarah were the grandparents of Issac Henry , Peter Keller's great grandfather. Joshua and Sarah, still living in the area around Bath, Pa had five children: Osborne, Oliver, Lewis, Alfred Augustus, and Joshua Smith Bartholomew. Osborne was Issac's father. Lewis died on March 3,1876 and is buried beside his wife Anna Marie and a great deal of the family at Snyders Church in Seamsville,Pa.

Osborne had three children: Sarah, Elmer, and Issac. Little is known of Sarah, except that she lived at 814 N. High St. in Bethlehem with her brother Issac's family until her death. Elmer was a missionary in Kenya from 1899 until 1907, and his life in Africa was both interesting and tragic. Issac was a teacher, an organist, and a composer of church music. Osborne worked the family farm outside of Bath only from 1884 until 1889. He then moved to Bethlehem where he moved in with Issac. He was listed as a wagon driver for Fritch's Flour Mill in the 1890's. He was born in 1847 and died in 1917, its possible that he served in the Civil War. Osborne was married to Sabina E. Snyder until her death in 1907.

Issac was Peter Keller's great grandfather. The Keller family lived downstairs at 814 High in Bethlehem while Issac and his wife Savilla Schell lived upstairs. It should be noted that Issac married Savilla on April 14, 1892. Their first home was at 312 N. High Street, although they moved to 814 at some later date. Issac and Savilla had three children: little willie who died as a baby, Marie, Peter's grandmother, and Grace. Grace married Fred Roach and lived in Boston until her death. Marie married Charles Keller and had one son, C. Donald Keller, Peter Keller's Father.
