Cora M. Allen (b. May 07, 1870, d. Jul 09, 1947)

Cora M. Allen (daughter of Perin R. Allen and Margaret Iler)²⁷ was born May 07, 1870^{28, 29, 29}, and died Jul 09, 1947 in Stockton, Jo Davies,IL USA^{30, 31, 32}. She married (1) Truman Walter Kendall on Nov 27, 1901 in Oregon, Ogle Co., IL, son of Samuel Kendall and Abigail Hazzard. She married (2) William F. Bonjour.

Notes for Cora M. Allen:
After death of Truman Kendall, Cora took the name Bonjour. Unknown if this is her maiden name or if she remarried.

She is bruied in North Grove Christian Cemetery alongside of Truman W. Kendall.

October 6, 1944 Mrs. W. F. Bonjouir (SP) paid $25.00 for upkeep of Lot #15, Block #1 at North Grove Cemetery

A walk thru this cemetery did not reveal any stone with this name on them.

However, there is another North Grove Evangelical Cemetery approximately one mile south of this one which we did not have time to explore on October 9, 1995.

Correspondence received from Gary Pals of Rockford, IL, verified that Margaret Iler Allen and Perin Allen were buried in Lot #43, Block #1, North Grove Cemetery, Leaf River, IL.

Graves of parents were located in August of 1996. Also found obituary in Leaf River Register of July 18, 1947 which reads:

MRS. CORA BONJOUR DIES

Mrs. Cora Kendall Bonjour, 77, wife of William Bonjour of Stockton, died at her home Wednesday, July 9.
The daughter if Mr. & Mrs. Perrin Allen, she was born May 7, 1870, and was married to Truman W. Kendall Nov. 24, 1902. Mr. Kendall died in June of 1936. Her marriage to William Bonjour occurred in 1942.
Surviving are her husband; a son, Fay Kendall, of Springfield; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Miller, Oak Park, Mrs. Emma Liddle, Chicago, and Mrs. Sarah Paul of Leaf River; three stepdaughters, and one stepson.
Funeral services, conducted by the Rev. J. M. Beck of Elizabeth, were held Saturday, July 12, at Stockton Methodist church. Burial was in the North Grove Christian Church Cemetery, Leaf River.
