LACEYS SPRING - James R. Cahela, 54, died Saturday at his home. The funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Twickenham Funeral Home south chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Morrow officiating.
Burial will be in Twickenham Memory Gardens.
Mr. Cahela was a native of Morgan County, a Baptist and a project supervisor for John D. Stephens Construction Co.
Survivors include his wife, Faye Cahela of Laceys Spring; two daughters, Erica Evans of Laceys Spring and DeAnna Eudy of Fort Worth, Texas; one sister, Nona Waid of Gadsden; and five grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Story told by Ruth Ann Blankenship - Mary received her name from her two sisters. Mary came from Mary Margarette. Elizabeth was the best friend of Ruth. Ann came from Ruth Ann. Curtis was so upset that the girls named her before he got to the hospital. He wanted a short name, not a long one.

HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Mary Elizabeth Ann Smith, 40, of Hartselle will be Sunday at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Summerford officiating. Burial will be in Oden Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Smith died Friday, March 31, 2000, at Hartselle Medical Center. She was born Dec. 20, 1959, in Hartselle and was a retired clerk for Vulcan Materials. She was the daughter of the late Cleo McNutt Blankenship.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Wayne Smith; two sons, Timmy Smith of Jacksonville, Fla., and John Smith of Hartselle; one daughter, Rhonda Kennedy of Falkville; her father, Curtis Blankenship of Falkville; three brothers, Sammy Blankenship and Jack Blankenship, both of Falkville, and Mike Blankenship of Battleground; two sisters, Mary Margarette Kennedy of Biloxi, Miss., and Ruth Ann Black of Hanceville; and four grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Black, Sammy Blankenship, Tony Blankenship, Anthony Bunch, Joe Harris, Billy Kennedy and Mike Blankenship.
