      Funeral for Velma Mary Addington, 79, of 1620 Locust St. SE will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Jefferson East Chapel in Birmingham.
      Burial will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens.
      Mrs. Addington died Monday at Decatur General Hospital. She was a lifelong resident of Birmingham and had recently moved to Decatur. She was member of the Rosehill Baptist Church.
      She is survived by one daughter, Frances Kennedy of Decatur, three sons, Virgil Coker of Cookeville, Tenn., Gordon Coker of Bandera, Texas, and Teddy Addington of Houston; one brother Clyde Barnett of Birmingham; two sisters, Bet Pearson of Birmingham and Delma Black of Florida; nine grandchildren.
