Kia ora, As with most New Zealanders my genealogy covers a wide and varied line of pedigree. In the doggie kingdom we would be concidered plain old cross-breeds, perhaps even mongrels!!!
The history of New Zealand however, is a short one (less than 200 years) though colourful, and we prefer to think of it as a country of oppertunity, making up for our lack of history with interesting hearsay and facts. After all... there is nothing like the guts and ingenuity of a kiwi!!!
My own personal genealogy includes the following surnames and places: ANNETT- Seven Oaks, Kent, England & Nova Scotia/New Brunswick, Canada & Port Fairy, Victoria, Australia & Oamaru, New Zealand. BIRD- Yorkshire, Stourbridge, England & Christchurch, New Zealand. BLUNDELL- Liverpool, England & New Zealand. EARLE- Liverpool, England & New Zealand. FLANAGAN- County Claire, Ireland. GARDNER- Tasmania, Australia & New Zealand. GROENEVELD/GREENFIELD- Terschelling Island, The Netherlands & Port Fairy, Victoria, Australia & Oamaru, New Zealand. HADFIELD- New Zealand. KING- Temuka/Timaru/Christchurch, New Zealand. MOFFET- Invercargill/Dunedin, New Zealand. MORRIS- New Zealand. O'MALLEY- Dublin/Gallway/Aran Isle, Ireland & Christchurch, New Zealand. PHILLIPS- Scotland & New Zealand. SHERIDAN- Dublin/ County Claire, Ireland & Christchurch, New Zealand. TIPTON- Old Swinford, Worcestorshire/ Derbyshire, England.
and heres a tricky one: REFRAIN has anyone anywhere heard of this family name???
