Andrew Taylor (son of James Taylor and Christian Lawson) was born 1821 in Kirkliston, West Lothian, Scotland, and died 19 Jan 1877 in St George, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.

Belonged to Cameron clan. Not so hot as wheelwright or watchmaker, but violins more successful. Sold one of his violins to a musician in the Royal Theater Orchestra in Edinburgh for the sum of 20 pounds (about $98). Age 20 in 1841 census living in Kirkliston as a joiner with wife & 1 daughter. Age 27 in 1851 census living at Burnhall in Kirkliston as a wright (b Edinburgh) with wife, mother-in-law, & 5 children. Age 41 in 1861 census living at Parrat House in Ratho as a wright with 4 children. Was living at 21 Semple Street in Saint George, Edinburgh at time of death--at first said he died of intoxication but later a correction was made to say he died of syncope, the result of chronic heart disease.
