Joel A Whiting (d. January 22, 1874)

Joel A Whiting (son of Stephen Whiting and Rebecca Hayes Morse) died January 22, 1874 in Randolph, VT. He married Ruth Ann Howard on November 14, 1860, daughter of Whitman Howard and Elmira Smith.

Notes for Joel A Whiting:
According to Ruth Whiting's notes, Joel died at age 80 from apoplexy (stroke). He had been ill for 2 years.

Stephen Whiting, age 60, and wife, Rebecca, age 62, are listed in the 1860 US Federal Census in Braintree, VT. Stephen's occupation is listed as "farmer". Joel, their son, is also listed as being 28 years old. These same individuals are also listed on the 1850 US Federal Census in Rochester, VT.

1880 US Federal Census lists Joel Whiting, age 43, and wife, Ruth, age 44, and sons, Carl (age 17) and Frank (age 12), and daughter, Myra (age 5).
