WILL OF HARRISON B. LAKE

I, Harrison B. Lake, do make and ordain this to be my last will and testament.

I devise and bequeath all my household goods and all that pertains thereto to my wife, Susannah Lake, also all wheat and cows I may have here at this residence where I now live. Also all meats, also the five cows that I now have and two of her own choice of the horses, one buggy and set of harness, one road wagon with it's harness, one mowing machine, all the fencing lumber that I now have, it to be used on the farm.

I also bequeath to my wife Susannah Lake the farm upon which I now live.

I further bequeath that after the sale has been made and all debts have been paid, that my wife shall have two hundred dollars ($200) out of the children's dower. Thus remaining after debts are paid of which she shall buy two work horses.

I bequeath that my Jed Bartlett farm shall be put up and rented to the highest bidder for the term of five years at a time and my wife is to have the proceeds.

I further bequeath to my wife all my tools, both carpenter tools and farming tools, to have and to hold so long as she remains my widow.

In testimony whereof to this my will, I set my signature and seal this the 20th day of January 1893.

CODICIL

I, Harrison B. Lake, do hereby add as a codicil to my will above, being in my right mind now, and also at the time of making the above will, the following codicil:

I bequeath to my wife Susannah Lake, six head of hogs. I bequeath to my wife also all the lumber she may select for the use of all the places. I also further request that my wife Susannah Lake shall be my executrix and also to be guardian for my children. I bequest that my wife shall either rent as stated above the Jed Bartlett farm or to sell same just as she thinks best and whenever she thinks best. I further will and bequeath that in case my wife should sell the Jed Bartlett farm, the money shall be loaned out and my wife shall have the interest of same until my oldest child, Jeanette Lake, becomes of age, when she, my daughter, Jeanette Lake shall have her proportionate part of all the money the farm sells for and so on until all my children shall become of age and receive their proportionate part of same.

I further will and bequest that this shall be my will so long as my wife Susannah Lake remains my widow.

I further will and bequest that my wife Susannah Lake shall not be required to give bond as executrix or guardian for my children.

In testimony whereof to this codicil to my wife made January 24th, 1893, I set my signature and seal this the 29th day of January 1893.

USANNAH ST. CLAIR:
WILL OF SUSANNA LAKE

I, Susanna Lake, of Fairmont, Marion County, West Virginia, being of sound and disposing mind and memory, do hereby make, publish and declare this my last will and testament, hereby revoking any and all wills by me at any time heretofore made.

First: I direct that all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid as soon after my death as conveniently can be done.

Second: I give and bequeath to my son Herbert Lake, the sum of one dollar ($1.00), the said Herbert Lake having heretofore received advances covering his share of my estate.

Third: I give, devise and bequeath the remainder of my estate, real, personal and mixed, no matter of what character or where situate, to my seven children, Jeanette Lake, Elliott, Lulu Lake Fleming, Iva Lake Huffman, William F. Lake, Cordie Carder, Glenn Lake and Beulah Lake Squires, share and share alike, the undivided one-seventh of said estate to each of them.

Fourth: I hereby appoint my son, H. Glenn Lake, as the executor of this my last will and testament, and I direct that no bond or surety be required of my said son as such executor, upon his qualification. I hereby authorize my said son, as executor, to sell my property, either real or personal, or any part of same, for the purpose of paying my debts, or for the purpose of dividing my estate among my seven children as hereinbefore provided for, and to make a division of the proceeds from said sale or sales. And I hereby authorize and empower said executor to make, sign, execute and deliver good and sufficient deeds of conveyance or other writings for said real estate, as fully as I could do if living.

In witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed my seal to this my last will and testament, this the ____ day of November, 1934.
