The following was copied from the death notices of The Fairmont Times, October 10, 1972 (she died the previous Sunday):

Mrs. Sadie May Lake, 87, of Flemington, Route 2, Galloway Community, died at 7:10 a.m. Sunday in Broaddus Hospital. She was born August 23, 1885 in Taylor County, a daughter of the late Ai and Cora Batson Clevenger. Her husband, Herbert Lake, died in 1949. Survivors include two foster daughters, Mrs. Bessie Morrow, Brown, Route 2, Flemington; Mrs. Rosalie Schiebe, of Kal Karlsruhe, Germany; five first cousins: Mrs. Lena Ginsberg, Baltimore, Maryland; Mrs. Clella Stalnaker, Route 3, Philippi; Gerald Clevenger, Volga; Mrs. Bonnie Barton and Mrs. Beulah Greathouse, both of Flemington. She was a member of the Pt. Pleasant Baptist Church. Friends may call at the Stemple-Forman Funeral Home in Philippi where services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Brooks Gall and The Rev. David Brown officiating. Burial will be made in the Clevenger Cemetery at Galloway
