WILSON 1923, daughter of JAMES WILSON and MYRTLE REED. She was born February 13, 1902 in Simpson, WV, and died December 24, 1984 in Braceville, Ohio.

Notes for IDA B. WILSON:
Dewey Lake died suddenly in 1962 of a heart attack. His wife, Ida, taught school in Taylor County for several years, retiring in 1967. She then began teaching in Warren, Ohio. The following death notice is copied from The Fairmont Times (Fairmont, WV) at the time of her death:

Ida B. Wilson Lake, 82, of Braceville, Ohio and formerly of Grafton (WV), died Monday at Braceville, Ohio following a lengthy illness. She was born in Simpson (WV) on February 13, 1902, a daughter of the late James and Myrtle Reed Wilson.

Her husband, Dewey Lake, died in 1962. She was also preceded in death by an infant son, David, one sister, Mrs. Mary Nestor and two brothers, Benjamin and Carl Wilson.

Survivors include one son, James C. Lake of Spokane, Washington; five daughters, Mrs. McKinley (Marjorie) Powell of Vanderbilt, Pennsylvania; Mrs. Paul (Martha) McCort of Warren, Ohio; Mrs. Wilma Jean Ryczaj of Youngstown, Ohio; Mrs. Russell (Joan) White of Braceville, Ohio and Mrs. Ralph (Evelyn) Flanigan of Honolulu, Hawaii; a sister, Mrs. Dennis (Bessie) Withers of Grafton; 17 grandchildren and 18 greatgrandchildren.

She was a retired schoolteacher who taught in Taylor County elementary schools for 25 years before retiring in 1967. She continued to teach for five additional years in the elementary schools of Newton Falls, Ohio and retired there in 1972. She was an active member of the Webster Baptist Church of Grafton, the Taylor County Senior Citizens, Retired Teachers Association and Homemakers Club of Taylor County.

Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the Donald G. Ford Funeral Home of Grafton, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday with Dr. Charles S. Norris officiating. Interment will be in the Walnut Grove Cemetery.
