268. LESTER KENT⁸ LAKE (LAWRENCE REX⁷, LESTER LEONARD⁶, ILA HENDERSON⁵, JOHN AARON⁴, ILA³, GEORGE B.², WILLIAM¹) was born December 04, 1955 in Jacksonville, Florida - Naval Air Station ⁶, and died April 26, 1984 in Fairmont, WV. He married KIMBERLY ANN FARCIN May 29, 1982 in Fairmont, WV - Mt. Sharon Free Methodist Church, daughter of JOSEPH FARCIN and SANDRA ?. She was born July 24, 1959.

Notes for LESTER KENT LAKE:
Kenny and Kim were married May 29, 1982 in the Mt. Sharon Free Methodist Church, near Fairmont, West Virginia. Kim is the daughter of Joseph Paul and Sandra Jean Farcin Jr., who reside at Route 3, Fairmont. This was Kim's second marriage, being divorced from James Toothman. Kim had no children from her first marriage.

Kenny was born in Jacksonville, Florida at the Naval Air Station where his father was stationed with the United States Navy. The first year of his life were spent at 2222 North Edgewood Avenue in Jacksonville. From October 1956 until August 1958, Ken and his parents were stationed with the navy in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba where his sister Terry Lynn was born. In August 1958, the family left Cuba and the navy and returned to Fairmont. Kenny attended grade school at Mt. Nebo (one of the last one room schools in West Virginia) and East Park schools near Fairmont and graduated from East Fairmont High School in 1973. He was a talented airplane pilot and a construction worker.

He and Kim moved into their new home on Bunner's Ridge, near Fairmont in October 1983. They spent Thanksgiving and Christmas there in 1983 and Joseph's first birthday in February 1984, but on April 26, 1984, while riding his motorcycle to night school at Fairmont State College with his brother Chris, a tragic accident took his life. A lady (Lorraine Kramer) pulled her 1977 Gremlin out into his lane of traffic, and in trying to avoid hitting her car, he lost control of his 1980 Yamaha motorcycle and he slid into the curb and guardrail. The accident occurred at 5:45 p.m. and he died approximately four hours later at West Virginia University Hospital in Morgantown, West Virginia. As the author of this book, I (Rex Lake) am sure this is one of the hardest pages I will have to write. Kenny was a big part of my life, and as my first born, he taught me how to love and to be a father (perhaps not a good one, but a least a loving and caring one) and a big part of me died with him.

Kim and Joseph continue to be a big part of our lives and we are happy for that. Kim remarried to Harry (Hank) Middlemas Jr. and now (1994) has three more children to keep Joseph company: Matthew, Jonathan and Hope.

269. TERRY LYNN⁸ LAKE (LAWRENCE REX⁷, LESTER LEONARD⁶, ILA HENDERSON⁵, JOHN AARON⁴, ILA³, GEORGE B.², WILLIAM¹) was born April 01, 1957 in Guantanamo, Cuba - U. S. Naval Air Station. She married (1) JOHN RANDALL SWANN July 09, 1977 in Fairmont, WV - Free Methodist Church, Morgantown Ave., son of JOHN SWANN and PATRICIA MICHAEL. He was born May 16, 1953. She married (2) PHILIP ROBERT CUBITT September 15, 1984 in Fairmont, WV, son of ALBERT CUBITT and FRANCIS NUSBAUMER. He was born June 30, 1955 in Haddonfield, NJ. She married (3) GARY WAYNE THOMAS February 15, 2002 in Jamaica.

Notes for TERRY LYNN LAKE:
Terry and Randy were married on Saturday July 9, 1977 at the Free Methodist Church on Morgantown Avenue in Fairmont, West Virginia, the same church where Terry's parents were married nearly twenty three years before. Randy is the son of John William and Patricia Ann Michael Swann of Monumental, near Fairmont. Terry and Randy later divorced.

Terry was born at Guantanamo, Cuba where her father was serving with the U.S. Navy. She was 16 months old before she first entered the United States. She attended grade school at Nebo, State Street and East Park Schools and graduated from East Fairmont High School, Fairmont, West Virginia in 1975. Terry spent a week in France in 1973 as a member of her high school French class.

Terry and Phil were married September 15, 1984 in Fairmont, West Virginia. This was the second marriage for both. Phil had previously been married to Clydene Gray, a marriage which resulted in no children. Phil is the son of Albert Bernard and Francis Christine Nusbaumer Cubitt. He was born at Haddonfield, New Jersey and graduated from Cornell University. Phil and Terry have one child.

Allyson was born at Marquette, Michigan. The Cubitts now (1994) live at Haddonfield, New Jersey. Phil's job in the hotel business had them living in Fairmont, West Virginia; Marquette, Michigan and Memphis, Tennessee before moving to Haddonfield. Phil and Terry divorced in 2001.

He married (1) LISA MARIE MUSGROVE April 29, 1980 in Baltimore, Maryland, daughter of SAMUEL MUSGROVE and VELDA NEEL. He married (2) DEANNA LYNN MILLER August 31, 1984 in Fairmont, WV - Yard of parents home, daughter of DONALD R. MILLER. He married (3) MARY ELLEN DONALDSON MOORE August 10, 1996 in Yard of their new home on Bunner Ridge, Fairmont, WV, daughter of JOHN DONALDSON and HILDA CUNNINGHAM. She was born September 11, 1960.

Notes for KEVIN REX LAKE:
Kevin and Lisa were married April 29, 1980 in Baltimore, Maryland on Kevin's nineteenth birthday. Lisa is the daughter of Samuel Ray Musgrove and Velda Neel Musgrove of Fairmont, West Virginia. Kevin and Lisa divorced in March 1982 with no children.

Kevin and Deanna were married August 31, 1984 in Fairmont, West Virginia in an outdoor ceremony in the yard of Kevin's parents, Rex and Janice Lake. Rev. John Baker performed the double ring ceremony. Deanna is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald R. Miller of Fairmont. Kevin and Deanna divorced in October 1989 with no children.

Kevin and Mary Ellen were married August 10, 1996 in the yard of their new home on Bunner's Ridge, near Fairmont, West Virginia. It was a lovely summer day, a lovely ceremony with a lovely bride and handsome groom (written by the prejudiced father of the groom). The ceremony was performed by Rev. Wayne Whoolery. Kevin's family fixed the food and decorated the outside tables and it was a great celebration. The father of the groom arranged for the sunshine and provided the photography (that's me) and I even got some aerial shots earlier in the day of the decorated yard and tables. The Lakes and the Donaldsons were rightfully proud on this day.

Mary Ellen was previously married to Johnnie Mark Moore. They had four children:

4. Melissa Ann b. 6-25-1987

Kevin and Mary Ellen have no children from their marriage, but all the children reside with them. Mary Ellen is the daughter of John Lewis and Hilda Jean Cunningham Donaldson. The Lake family is quite proud of this addition to our family.
