ATHAN EBENEZER GROSVENOR, SR. REV.:
Nathan was a Congregational Minister, and lived at Craftsbury, Vermont for a time, than returned to Conn. He was listed in the 1800 Windham Co., census. Nathan was probably on a visit at the home of his oldest daughter, Laura Clark, Chaplin, Conn., when he was taken sick "of a fever". Before the disease completed its course, it had claimed the lives of Nathan, Lucy Fitch Adams, who had gone to help care for him, and Nathan's youngest child, Mary Eliza, aged 5 years.

Caleb Clark's company, 11th New York regiment. (DAR Lineage Book).      Mass. Soldiers & Sailors in the War of the Revolution: p 912 Grosvenor, Moses. Private, Capt. John Sherman's co., Col. Gideon Burt's Regt.; enlisted June 16, 1782; service 6 days, against the insurgents at Springfield and Northhampton.                                     Settled at Grosvenor Corners, Schoharie, New York about 1794 or 1795. Moses lived in Brimfield, Mass., Suffield, Conn.(1790), Lawyersville, New York, and Grosvenor Corners, New York.

HOMAS GROSVENOR, CAPT.:
Thomas Grosvenor, John Treadwell, Marvin Wait, Elijah Hubbard, James Wadsworth, William Edmond, Aaron Austin, Sylvester Gilbert, and Charles Whittlesey were the eight people (representing each county in Connecticut) authorized to sell the unsurveyed lands of the Connecticut Western Reserve of Ohio. The tract was presumed to embrace well in excess of 3,000,000 acres. Of their estimated total, 3,000,000 acres were to be sold at a price of not less than $1,000,00.-- thirty -three cents an acre.                                                            "The Western Reserve" by Harlan Hatcher, 1949 p. 24.                                                                  Served as private under Captain Craft and Col. William Danielson, in the Conn. troops. (DAR Lineage Book). It is also said that he was a Captain in the Rev. War, and was called Thomas Grosvenor, 2nd., to distinguish him from Col. Thomas.                                                      Listed in Windham Co., Conn. census in 1800. Captain Thomas Grosvenor served in the Rev. War and lived at Abington. He served in the Legislature in 1792, 1793, 1799, 1801, 1804 (Bowen).
