Notes for OLAF OLSON:
In deference to more methodical researchers, it must be said that I do not have hard-copy documentation of most of the data in this file. Credit for most of it belongs to the many genealogists who have generously shared the results of their long hours of hard work. Wherever possible, their names, and sometimes email addresses, appear in the footnotes. Without them, this data file would not be possible.

Olaf and Anne sailed from Sweden in 1867 (per David Stobbs) or Anne and the children about 1871 (per Grace Gaukrodger Stobbs and Florence Olsen) with four or five children. They (she?) settled first in Louisiana, MO; and later in St. Louis, MO and Woodriver, IL.
Died in Sweden; Louisiana, MO; or Woodriver, IL; when a tree fell on him. David Stobbs indicates that he was buried in Woodriver, IL; while Florence Olsen wrote in 1976 that her father (Frank Swanson Olson) told her a tree fell on his father in Sweden and killed him, and Anne and the children came to the US after that when Frank was about 12.
It should be noted that while Olaf's name was almost certainly "Olson" when (or if) he left Sweden, many printed resources in the US use "Olsen". Researchers following this line should remain aware of both spellings, or valuable information might be missed.
Children of OLAF OLSON and ANNE ERICKSON are:
