Notes for J
OHN STONE:
John Stone was a wheelright and chairmaker by trade.
John Stone's remains, along with his wife, Hannah Barnes were removed around 1867 and placed on a small ridge of land near a branch of the Pochasset River. Although having been buried for 154 years, Hannah Barnes skeleton was in an entire state of preservation with her hair still braided and wound in a coil as perfect as the day she had died in the early 1700's. (From Richard C. Stone's book, "The Geneology of the Stone Family originating in Rhode Island, 1866)
