Notes for N
ANCY RENEE DANIELS:
"Though born in Scranton, Pa. the Daniels family moved early in my life to Long Island, N.Y. and from there to Longmeadow, Massachusetts, and ultimately to Saratoga Springs, N.Y.
I met my first husband, Fredrick Pratt in Saratoga when I auditioned as a singer for the Union College Jazz Band, in which Fred played baritone sax and arranged the band's orchestrations. Fred had spent his army life during World War II in Special Services as a musician stationed in Japan.
I married Fred in 1952. The first year of married life was spent in Chicago, where Fred was attending Chicago College of Optometry. Following his graduation, we moved for a short time to Saratoga, where my son Steve was born. Then we settled for a time in Bellows Falls, Vermont where Fred practiced optometry in partnership with his father, an otolarygologist. Here my son Ed was born. Fred soon became bored with optometry and delved into the field of electronics, ending up in the area of linear accelerators and related fields. Several moves and children followed. Fred died in 1974, at the age of 46. After Fred's death, I continued to live in Elgin, Illinois, and worked for many years as a legal secretary for a large law firm in Chicago. I met and married my second husband, Robert "Prince" Cooper. Prince worked as a musician and vocalist in the Chicago area and various parts of the country on tour for over fifty years. He plays old standards in the style of Nat King Cole, Tony Bennett, Frank Sinatra, Mel Torme." (Nancy Daniels Cooper, 1996)
"Prince Cooper died in Jan. 1998 of a heart attack, and Nancy passed away 2 months later an untimely death at age 66, after a courageous four year battle with cancer. She requested her cremated ashes be scattered at the Portland Head Lighthouse in Maine." (Kevin Langan, April, 2000)
