Quoting from the Preface of Jean Younglove Larson's A YOUNGLOVE FAMILY HISTORY: "This is a record of one branch of the Younglove family dating back to our origonal ancester, Samuel Younglove, who came to this country in 1635". Samuel, his wife Margaret and son Samuel emigrated to New England USA in the "Hopewll" with Captain Thomas Babb at the helm in September of 1635 settling in Ipswich, Massachusetts. They embarked from London England.
I am sad to report that Jean passed away On Jauary 2, 1991.
This Larson family tree Begins with Lars Samuelson born in Hafslo, Norway who married Margarette Jensen Riseland parents of Jens Larsen who was born June 8,1829 in Hafslo, Sogn, Norway where he married Kari Johannsdtr June 16,1858 in the Jaranger Church in Hafslo Norway.
Research on the Larson family was done by my sister Verna and my Wife Jean before her Death. My son Donald and I researched the early Larson and Selsing information at the Statskivetti at Bergen, Norway on June 19th 1992 where we found information about the parents of the Larson and Selsing who emmigrated to this country. My wife Jean did all of the reseach on the Younglove family and published it in the " JEAN YOUNGLOVE FAMILY HISTORY", A copy of which is on file at the Library of Congress. A copy can also be found in a book titled "The Descenddants of Samuel and Margaret Younglove" written by James N.Younglove, printed by D Armstrong Co. Inc. Houstin, Texas.
The Younglove and Larson families were joined by the marriage of Jean Younglove and your's truly Arleigh Larson on January 8, 1947 in Berlin, Wisconsin.
I have enjoyed doing this and wish to credit and thank Jean and my Sister Verna for providing most of the information. I thank my Daughter Ellen by encouraging me by giving me the program for my computer. I must not forget to thank my Son Frank and his son Jeffery for getting me started using a computer.
I have also receive help from Lona Gaylord Heublein, Sandra Larson Daye, Charles Simonson and Judith Larson Philips.
