I am trying to locate any information on my grandfather-Felix Nawrocki b.approx.1861. He came from Poland to New York. He married my grandmother Anne Marie Gardon also from Poland approx. 1910-1912 and from what we know he left my grandmother sometime around 1916-1918 and from there no one knows where. He may have stayed in New York or went to either Rhode Island or New Jersey. I have tried looking in the 1910 and 1920 census for New York with no luck. Have not been able to locate either a marriage certificate or a death certificate for Felix. I have also been searching passenger ship lists to try to find out when he came to New York but that seems endless. Any help will be greatly appreciated. If there are records at Ellis Island, does one have to travel to New York to research there??
