Georgius Jurasits, Sr. (son of Andreas Jurasits and Anna Veszelovits) was born Jan 14, 1801 in Szentpeterfa, Vas, Austria-Hungary263, and died Aft. 1864 in Szentpeterfa, Vas, Austria-Hungary264. He married Catharina Harangozo on Jun 01, 1823 in Szentpeterfa, Vas, Austria-Hungary265, daughter of Michael Harangozo and Eva Varga.
Notes for Georgius Jurasits, Sr.:
His name is listed in the marriage record of his son and in his own marriage record from 1823, where his listed age is 22.
There was only one George Jurasits born in 1800 or 1801. Two others were born in the years immediately preceding or after this (both in 1798).
The Szentpeterfa priest is, however, sure that this George Jurasits is the correct one. I also tend to agree, as his mother's family name (upon further investigation) turns out to be Veszelovits - a name that shows up repeatedly as god-parents and marriage testators in subsequent Jurasits records.
I also investigated the other two George Jurasits' from 1798 to see if their death and/or marriage records could definitely pinpoint their identities and eliminate them. This appears to have been a successful strategy, as I found possible death records for both and was therefore able to convincingly eliminate them as potential candidates.
At the time of George's wife's death, she was living in house #76.
