Margaret Finney, my third great-grandmother, was born to James and Margaret (Reid) Finney on 29 April 1832 in Hamilton, Lanark, Scotland, and died on 15 August 1904 in Bangor, Maine. She married Captain John Short II on 28 September 1848 in New York City, soon after immigrating to the United States; they had seven children.
