Notes for John Abner Nunnelee:
John Abner Nunnelee enlisted in the army 21 Feb. 1862 at Columbus,
Georgia. He was a private in Co. B, 37th Regt., Georgia Volunteers.

His only child Thomas Bartow Nunnelee was only 4 months old when John Abner
left for the war. John Abner was evidently buried near Chickamauga;
we have not located his grave. Inscription inside family Bible
"presented by my lost one who sleeps in a soldier's grave." I believe
these words were written by his widow Mary C. Jenkins Nunnelee.
