John McGlamery was born in Georgia, and died 1857 in Wayne Co., Tn.. He married Catherine Brinker on October 13, 1817 in Madison Co., Al, daughter of Henry Brinker and Susannah Taylor.
Notes for John McGlamery: The John McGlamery family moved to Wayne Co., Tn. around 1848. John was the proprietor of McGlammery Stand, one of the main trading post for the early travelers on the Natchez Trace. The community of McGlamery if now a part of the town of Collinwood, Tn. and many of the McGlamery family are buried in the McGlamery Cemetery. It appearing to the Court here that John A. COX late of said County is dead and having made no last will in writing and it further appearing to the Court that the widow of said decease relinguishes her right to administer on said estate and requests that David C WHITTEN be appointed such administrator It is therefore ordered by the Court that letters Issue to the said WHITTEN accordingly and the said David C WHITTEN came into Court and entered into bond in the sum of three hundred Dollars with John McGLAMERY his security which was approved of by the Court and the said David C WHITTEN and John McGLAMERY acknowledged the execution of said bond in open Court for the purposes therein [page 334] Monday March 7, 1853 specified and thereupon the said David C WHITTEN took the necessary oath for his qualification
