Notes for John Cox: It appearing to the Court here that John A. COX late of said County is dead and having made no last will in writing and it further appearing to the Court that the widow of said decease relinguishes her right to administer on said estate and requests that David C WHITTEN be appointed such administrator It is therefore ordered by the Court that letters Issue to the said WHITTEN accordingly and the said David C WHITTEN came into Court and entered into bond in the sum of three hundred Dollars with John McGLAMERY his security which was approved of by the Court and the said David C WHITTEN and John McGLAMERY acknowledged the execution of said bond in open Court for the purposes therein [page 334] Monday March 7, 1853 specified and thereupon the said David C WHITTEN took the necessary oath for his qualification
