Includes NotesNotes for Norman Edward Millington:
Served in Royal Engineers as Staff Sargeant until a year after Martha's death. He then went on to become a qualified Quantity Surveyor, working on such projects as Dundee's Ninewells Hospital and South Africa's first ever TV studio in Johannesburg. On return from South Africa he served with James Gentles Surveyors in Edinburgh. At the age of 47 he set up his own building company and refurbished blocks of flats in Kirkhill Road Penicuik, and also built luxury homes in Bonnyrigg. His business expanded into producing hardwood conservatories, windows and doors from his factories in Newtongrange. He gave up his business when he became too ill and eventually died a horrible death from fibrosing alveolitus. (Source Gillian Millington)
