Directions to Marshall Family Picnic

Saturday, 11 August 2007   §   11:30 or so until later afternoon

Coming on 66/28 south from Clarion or Brookville; or 422 west from Indiana or Altoona

Get to downtown Kittanning!

Cross the bridge, heading west, and follow that road up the hill and   through the second traffic light for 8/10 of a mile.

At Transue’s Tackle & Framing Shop, make a sharp left onto the Pony Farm Road just before the shop.  Also, at this point there is an Amish furniture store on your right.  Make sure that you turn onto the Pony Farm Road and not onto Briar Hill Road!

Follow this winding country road for 2.1 miles, until you see a large, one-story building on the left—and go past that building.  You’ll cross a little bridge over a small creek, and then you come to a second building on your left—the Armstrong County Hunting and Fishing Club.  You’ve arrived!

Coming on 422 east from Butler or 28 north from Pittsburgh

If we have our act together, there should be signs at the Pony Farm Road.  If not, just follow the directions!

Please bring along . . .

§        some food to share; drinks and meat are provided;

§        table service for you and your family;

§        an item or two for the “craft table” – something you can live without, but which may be just what someone else is looking for; sales help cover costs;

Thanks to my nephew, Matthew K. Hawk, and to his mother (my sister) Karen Marshall Hawk, for measuring miles for these directions!
