Elmer was a mail carrier from 1902 and served 28 years, 9 months 17 days and retured from the post office 8 October 1930.

Mae graduated from the Angola High School in 1901 (See graduating program.) She went on to get her teacher's certificate to teach North Collins Free School District No. 4 of North Collins from September 1910 to June 1911 at $400.00 per year payable monthly. (See certificate dated April 12 1910). Mae also taught Pontiac Public School District No. 14 Evane, Erie Co., New York. (See graduation program dated 1905.)

Charles and Hazel lived in one of the five homes owned by Hazel's mother on Atwood Terrace, Columbus, Ohio. Atwood Terrace was named after the Atwood family. Their son Charles Portland Lindsay was b: September 7, 1911, m: Doris Mae Whaley in the fall of 1930 in North Collins, New York. He died January 21 1977 in Obetz, Ohio.
