4. Amy2 Martin (Claiborne1) was born 1800 in Georgia. She married Isaac Oakes October 18, 1819 in Dallas County, Alabama, son of Isaac Oakes.


       Children of Amy Martin and Isaac Oakes are:

  i.   WASHINTON L3 OAKES, b. January 30, 1827, Perry County, Alabama; d. March 13, 1894, Buried, Oakes Cemetary, Claiborne Parish Louisana; m. MARTHA A. SCARBOROUGH, 1852.

  Notes for WASHINTON L OAKES:
He enlisted in 1861 in Col. Scott's company and fought at Belmont. After the first year he was sent back to Louisana and served the state until the close of the war. He settled in Claiborne Parish in 1849. He owned a farm of 1000 acres, which 400 were cultivated. Served as a Justice of the peace and was a member of the Masonic Fraternity for many years. He and his wife were members of the Missionary baptist Church.
