Amos was reported in the North Carolina Center Meeting Minutes as being merried on January 2, 1808, to Mary Barnett, born 1792 and died 1845. She was the daughter of Arthanacius (notice spelling) and Jane (Hutchins) Barnett, Quakers of North Carolina, sho came to Ohio in 1807.

In 1824 Amos deeded one and one-half acres of land for three-dollars to Daniel Baley and Gayer Starbuck, Dover Meeting Trustees. Upon this land was erected the one story brick meeting house in 1844 and 1845.

Around the year 1821 (? - this probably should be 1831) Amos and family reloated to Pekin, Illinois.
