70. Daniel Lockridge (1)(2) (3) was born in 1810 in Abbeville, SC. He died on 27 Jul 1872 in Gwinnett Co., Georgia. He was buried in Lockridge-Herrington-Chesser Family Cemetery at Suwanee Creed Rd, 1/4 mile NW of Wildwood Road. He was married to Marilza Ann Adams about 1829 in Abbeville, South Carolina.

71. Marilza Ann Adams (1)(2) (3) was born about 1820 in Abbeville, South Carolina. She died about 1875 in Gwinnett County, Georgia. She was buried in Lockridge Family cemetery. She was buried in their plantation near Lawrencville, GA.. From Cheryl Ann Riley Noel:

She was listed on the 1860 census for Gwinnett County Georgia at the age of 40. Children were:

child iii. Mary A. P. Etta Lockridge(1) (2)(3) was born in 1833 in Abbeville, South Carolina. She died in Mar 1905 in Brownwood, Brown Co. TX.. From Cheryl Anne Riley Noel:


During the civil War, Mary would send son Robert, Age 6, on a horse to the mill with bags of corn to have made into meal. She had to hide flour, meal, salt, etc. in the woods to keep the soldiers from taking it. She once hid a calf in the house until Confederate soldiers could butcher it for her and give her the meat.

Mary, the children and "Mammy" would hide in the fields at night when Sherman's troops were going through the area.

Amon Jr. was born after his father died at Vicksburg Miss. She didn't know until a neighbor came home and told her he had rolled him up in a blanket and buried him.

Mary and children went by train from Georgia to Arkansas. She homesteaded a farm near Guy, Arkansas. According to records, she was still there in 1854.

Mary went in a covered wagon to Brownswood Texas to live with son (either Jesse or Amon). She died there in March 1905.

Bethesda Methodist Church in Gwinnett County. She was the wife of John C. Brownlee who is buried next to her. My grandmother Lenora Brownlee is buried near them, and I have been to visit the cemetery several times.
