Mr. William A. Jackson, died at his daughter's, Mrs. Eliza Sanders, near Lomax on May 23, 1914. He was born April 2, 1833. When he was about 18 years old he came to Chambers County, AL where he spent most of his life. He moved from Chambers County to Chilton County, where he lived until his death. He leaves a widow and children, grandchildren and a host of friends. His remains were carried to New Harmony Church in Lomax and there in the presence of his wife, children, grandchildren and a host of friends was laid to wait in the arms of Jesus. The writer has known his life as a remarkable life. He was always ready to help in the time of need. Nights were never to dark, weather to bad, from going to his fellow man in time of need and distress. The writer was blessed with privilage of being a part of his life and during this time he was free from pain. He said he suffered none and had no desire to stay well with him.

Notes for M
ARY C. WILLIAMS:
The following was printed in the Clanton Union-Banner on March 9, 1922. It was authored by Joseph Henry Jackson, son of William Arnold Jackson, son of Seaborn Jasper Jackson.

"On February the 24th, Mrs. Mary C. Jackson, the widow of William A. Jackson, passed from this earth into eternity. She was about ninety-four years of age.

She was residing with her son, R. M. Jackson, near Sylvania, Alabama.

She leaves one child, the above mentioned, and seven step-children to mourn her loss.

I cannot believe that she is lying beneath the cold clods to await some far future day for the general resurrection as did Mary and Martha. Christ told them that he was the resurrection, the truth and the life.

God says that he is not the God of the dead, but of the living. He declares that he is the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. With the living and not with the dead. J. H. Jackson.
