Notes for H
ELEN WEHRLEY:
I had a conversation with Helen sometime in the early to mid-90's. She was a very delightful person. She and Herman Lee were living at the time at 710 Barbee Way. 637-8269 Herman was up in his 80's and resting while she was on the phone. We had discussed meeting one day, she very much wanted to meet me, however she said Herman was getting somewhat senile and that he wouldn't know of the Timmering relatives by memory. She was very helpful with some dates. She told me she was not Hermans only wife and that his son by his first wife was Harry LEE.
And... that there were no photographs of the former and that it was really a shame tha t her husband did not have even one picture of his parents.

ILLIAM HARRY TIMMERING:
This is my first cousin, and unfortunately we never got to know each other in our younger years, he was quite a bit older than me, and as you can see by looking at the family group record sheet on him; he and his wife were married (1940) which was 4 years before I was born! However we did get to know each other very well as adults and we spent many hours talking over the phone , and he told me what he could recall about some of the family elders that were around while he was still a boy, but were already GONE before I came along.

He told me about a Charles Herman TIMMERING Who was his Uncle Charles; He said he was very strong with a Labor Union and he traveled around Lot I have written in my notes he (Blackballed a superintendent at workhouse)??
I also have written in the notes he gave me that his uncle William's son Herman worked at Acct firm as accountant at H>H> Timmering & CO.
He said Eunice, daughter of Herman Married Doctor SCOTT........ later this year 99'
another cousin Joe Timmering mailed me the article of Eunice TIMMERING death and the article written in the "VOICE" about her and her family. Eunice's Daughter is/WAS a doctor also............she died a couple of years ago. She was a pediatrician.

The BEST thing my cousin told me was the story about the box our GRANDFATHER TIMMERING ) made and brought from Germany with his belongings in it........ No one knew about it, except Billy, and when his wife Bernice was in the hospital with some problems with her back, and he was very concerned with her, he was talking to the other lady sharing the hospital room with his wife and she knew the family (The TIMMERINGS) and had lived on Prentice Street across from the Timmerings.

Now how this lady got this trunk, I am not sure, but her name was Mrs. John VOSS. Therefore she was a member of the Voss family. The VOSS family lived by the TIMMERINGS and all seemed to stay very close with them. The connection.............. My Grandfather TIMMERING was married to his first wife, had a daughter by the name of ROSE ..........Guess what!! Rose's Mother was Annie Katherine VOSS! So, somewhere along the way Rosie's mother passed away. Grandfather TIMMERING remarries to Caroline Dorothy WINDHORST and the trunk that he had made back in Germany before 1880 seems to have just remained in the VOSS household for the next 80 some odd years. Until....... I had this conversation with Billy Timmering. He says "why don't you give her a call and see if she still has it." ...........................Well I did and she still had it and she said she would love for me to have it. So.....my daughter and I went right over to her house to get it. Now I have it. It is old and very banged up but it is the one and only thing I have that belonged to my Grandfather. He (MY COUSIN bILLY) also wanted me to come over to see a vase his father had brought from Germany and he had it on his mantle. I never got over there to see it and as luck is, my cousin died back in 1991 and I never did get to see that vase.
