Notes for Thomas Miles:
To find the parents of Thomas Miles has been hard to find , but I'm sure there are records and places that I have not found yet. What info I do have gives, I think, good evidence at who could be his father. So the ancesters I list after Thomas are guess work on my part , but I wish to show my reasons for guessing.

1: At the Washington Co. ,KY. courthouse, I found a deed by Henry P. Miles to his son,Thomas. Here is what it Contains:
Be it known to all whom these may concern that I Henry P. Miles of the county of Washington and State of Kentucky, for and in consideration of the love and affections, I bear to my son Thomas Miles of said County of Washington and State aforesaid and for the further consideration of his paying all the Just Debts that I now owe and would be by law compelled to pay as also for him to keep me in good holesome diet, clothing, washing, lodging & bording so long as I may live, Have this day bargained, sold, alined, conveyed and confirmed unto him, the said Thomas Miles and Heirs forever The tract of Land on which I now live, supposed to be one hundred acres, also one yellow woman named Ann and her child bill, also a yellow boy John, also all my Stock of every description together with all my household and kitchen furniture and tools of every sort. Together with all and singular the appertenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining to have and to hold unto him and his Heirs forever the above discribed Land, slaves and other discribed personal property unto him the aforesaid Thomas Miles and his Heirs forever. I the said Henry P. Miles for myself and my heirs do and will by these present relinqish and forever quit claim. In testimony whereof I have here unto set my hand and _____ my Seal this day of January 1829

Washington County
I John Hughes Jr. clerk of the County Court for the County aforesaid, do hereby certify that on the day of the date hereof This Indenture was forever before me in my office to be the act and deed of the within named Henry P. Miles by the oaths of John Lancaster fr and John Lancaster Jr the subscribing wittnesses thereto, which is at the request of the grantee therin named, admitted to Record in Deed Book J. page 272. Given under my hand this the 26th day of January 1829.

2: In the 1830 census for Washington Co. Ky., there are only two Thomas Miles' listed. Comparing the two Thomas ', I find the entries very similar. One Thomas follows the name of Richard Buckler, the father of Thomas's wife,Elizabeth. So I beleive Thomas and or Elizabeth were visiting Richard at the time the census taker visited his home. The other Thomas listed is several pages back in the census, so I believe that at a later date , the same Thomas Miles was visited again at his home by the census taker.
Both entries list a male of fifty and under sixty. This male I beleive to be Henry P. Miles. Both entries listed the same number of females in the same age column. The difference between the two is that one Thomas Miles lists" two males of twenty and under thirty", the other record lists" two males of thirty and under forty." Only the ages are different. Also, both records show the same number of slaves, Four.
