1. PAUL1 MOSER was born 1708 in Germany, and died August 19, 1780 in Forks Township, Northampton County, Pennsylvania. He married (1) ELIZABETH DUNCKEL, daughter of JOHANN DANIEL DUNCKEL. She died April 08, 1749. He married (2) MARIA EVA BECHOLT August 10, 1749. She died 1810.

AUL MOSER:
Paul was an immigrant on the ship ADVENTURE arriving September 23, 1732. Other Moser's on the ship were George age 48, Michael age 38, Tobia age 30, Leonard, Eve age 40, Eva Barbara age 16, Christian (f) age 24, Magdalena age 28, Susanna age 40, Hanna Margaret age 12, Anna Mareta age 10, Ann Margarella age 8, Bastian age 6, Simon age 11 and Hance George age 8.
Paul was one of the first settlers around Falkner Swamp, Montgomery County, Pa. He went to the Blue Mountains in 1752 with Philip Odenwelder and John Yeager. They were burned out by Indians between 1756-1758. They then moved to Dry Lands near Easton. In 1769 he bought 172 acres from Philip Odenwelder. His will was proved August 19, 1780, Will Book 1, pg. 253, file 2.

Will of Paul Moser:

In the Name of God Amen. The Nineteenth Day of June in the Year of our Lord One thousand Seven hundred and Eighty. I, Paul Moser, of Forks Township in the County of Northampton and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Yeoman being Sick and Weak in Body, but of perfect Mind and Memory, Thanks be given unto God therefore, calling into Mind the Mortality of my Body and knowing that it is appointed for all Men to die , Do make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament. That is to say principally and first of all, I give and recommend my Soul into the Hands of God, that gave it and for my body I recommend into the Earth to be buried in a Christian like and decent manner, at the Discretion of my Executors, nothing doubting but at the General Resurrection I shall receive the same again by the Mighty Power of God and Us touching I....worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this Life I give, devise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form.
Impormis It is my Will, and I do order, that in the first place all my just Debts and funeral Charges be paid and Satisfied.
Then I give and bequeath unto Eve my dearly beloved Wife as long as She is unmarried the whole Possession of all of my real and personal Estate and Household Goods whatsoever after my Decease and my Executors thinks proper for the good of my children---But if my ?said? wife Eve should marry again after my Decease, then She shall have the third part or Division to be raised and levied out of my Estate and all my household goods and moveables whatsoever----Then I give and bequeath unto my eldest son Michael the Sum of Five Pounds old rate on Sylver or Gold of Pennsylvania Currency before out of all the Sharing and Divisions of my whole Estate to be raised and levied------
Then I give and Bequeath unto my Sons, viz: my son Michael, George, Adam, Andrew, Jacob, Paul, Tobias, Peter and John and my Daughters Eve, Cathareen and Magdalene Children all Equal Shares and Division to be raised and levied out of all my said Estate Household Goods and Moveables whatsoever after my Decease.
Then I order that my two Sons Jacob and Paul shall have two Colts of one year old after my Decease, but the said Colts shall be in Use of Labour as long as their Mother is in possession of the said Estate and the Executors thinking proper----
Then I order and ?Suppose? that my Son Andrew upon my Decease demand my Decease any Pay or Wages for work for some time above his age, then my Son Andrew Shall pay all the Rent for the Dwelling house where he lives in....the Term he has dwelled----
Likewise I do Order, constitute, make and ordain to be my only two Executors named William Traub and Philip Odenwalder.....of this my last will and Testament of all and long....the Lords mis.....?Tenement? And all my Estate, Household Goods and Moveables whatsoever and----
I do order my two Executors aforesaid, if my said Wife could not process or agree with the Children after my Decease, to make a publick Sale of all my whole Estate, Household Goods and Moveables whatsoever.
And I utterly disallow, revoke and disannul all former Testaments, Wills, Legacies and Executors....in any ways before this time named willed and bequeathed Ratifying and Confirming this and no other to be my last will and Testament. In Witness whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and Seal the day and year above written.

On the 19th of August 1780 before me, John Arndt, Esq., Register for the probate of will in and for said County personally came John Geger and John Adenwelder two of the witness' to the within last Will and Testament of Paul Moser, deceased and being duly sworn on the Holy Evangelists of Almighty God did respectively declare and say that they were present and saw the said testator sign, seal, publish and declare the same as and for his last Will and Testament and that at the time he was of sound mind and memory and understanding to the best of their knowledge and belief and also that they, these despondants, together with John Spangenberg subscribed the same as witness in the presence and at the request of the said testator and in the presence of one another.

Deed Of Release No. A-4, Northampton County, Pennsylvania:

To all People to whom these presents shall come, I, Jacob MOSER of Wynsburg Township, in Greene County and State of Pennsylvania, Yeoman, and Margaret his wife, the said Jacob being one of the sons and heirs of Paul MOSER late of __________ Forks Township in the county of Northampton and State of Pennsylvania, yeoman, deceased, send Greetings. Whereas the said Paul MOSER in his lifetime by good conveyances or assurances in the law duly ___ and executed in his lifetime lawfully seized of and in a certain tract of land situate in Forks Township aforesaid bounded by land of Henry YEAGER, Philip YEAGER and others, containing, one hundred acres more or less being part of a tract of land purchased by him of Philip ODENWELDER and part of what is called the dry lands and being so thereof seized made his last will and testament in writing bearing date the 19th day of June Anno Domini 1780 whereby among other things he did order and direct that after the decease of his wife Eve his estate real and personal should be sold and the real proceeds thereof be divided among his twelve children in equal shares as in and by his will remaining in the Registers office of the county aforesaid may at large appear. Now know ye that the said Jacob MOSER and his wife Margaret for and in consideration of the sum of three hundred dollars money of Pennsylvania to or their son John paid by Peter MILLER of the Borough of Easton, Merchant at or before the sealing or delivery hereof, the receipt whereof they hereby acknowledge and thereof do acquit and forever discharge the said Peter MILLER his heirs creditors and administrators by these presents Have granted sold and assigned and set over and by these presents do grant, bargain, sell, assign and deliver unto the said Peter MILLER and his heirs and assigns All the share estate purport and dividend right his interest, claim and demand whatsoever of his the said Jacob MOSER and Margaret his wife in law or equity or otherwise howsoever of in it(?) or out of the real and personal estate of the late said Paul MOSER deceased late in the possession of Eve his widow deceased, to Hold to him the said Peter MILLER his heirs and assigns forever. So that neither the said Jacob MOSER and Margaret his wife nor their heirs nor any other person or persons whatsoever lawfully claiming or to claim by from or under him them or any of them shall or may at any time hereafter challenge or demand any estate in the(?) interest of in____ or out of the said estate hereby granted assigned and delivered but thereof and therefrom shall by utterly excluded(?) and forever debarred by these presents. Before me a Justice of the Peace for the county aforesaid personally appeared the witness named Jacob MOSER and his wife Margaret and in due form of law acknowledged the foregoing written indenture to be their act and deed and desires the same might be recorded as such. The said Margaret being by me personally and apart from her said husband examined and contents made known to her she declared she had signed the same voluntarily of her own free will.

I William Thompson HAYES Prothonotary of the Court of Common Pleas in and for the county aforesaid do certify that William HUNTER, Esq., before whom the foregoing and annexed acknowledgement was made is one of the Justices of the Peace in and for said county duly commissioned and sworn as such and full faith and credit is due and ought to be given to all his official acts. Witness the hand and seal of office at Waynesburg this the thirtieth day of May Anno Domini 1815.

  Notes for JOHN PAUL MOSER:
Served in the Revolutionary War. He said that he was often sent into Washington's army with fresh horses and then brought back those that were lame and put them on his fathers' and neighbors' farms.
