Childrens' day was observed by the Sunday school of the M. E. Church, South, on Sunday morning last. A FARMER'S CO-OPERATIVE BANK

Before farmers can use this "Intermediate Credit", it is necessary to raise $10,000 stock. Said stock must be invested in Government or Land Bank bonds and kept unincumbered. This organization connects our community up with the great Co-operative Commodity Marketing movement, and is the nation's contribution toward the betterment of agricultural conditions.
Money subscribed to this stock will be made safe and pay 6%. Senator SWANSON says it is a good system and will improve farming conditions, if we will make use of it.
This bank will not take savings or deposit accounts. Our money ($100,000) comes from outside sources, through Federal Land Banks or War Finance Corporation. One of these new banks is being organized at Manassas for Prince William and adjoining counties. Those with money to invest should subscribe stock, and borrowers can apply at once, on three years time, to committee of our Farmers' Union and Bureau, J. C. PARISH, R. S. HYNSON, R. C. LEWIS and J. H. DODGE, Manassas, Va., and W. B. DOAK, Clifton Station, Va.

Son Of Founder Is Hynson Co. Owner

Established a year after the close of the Civil War, Hynson and Company, of West Centre street, Manassas, has long stood as a testimonial to the ability and competence of the management and willingness of the directing heads to provide the people of the community and its surrounding areas with a complete line of men's, women's and children's clothing, novelties and many things for the person and home.
A partnership was formed 45 years ago by Charles L. HYNSON, founder of the enterprise, and his son, Richard S., and their combined activities advanced the firm considerably until the regretted demise of its senior member in 1909 marked its completion.
Richard S. HYNSON has continued the enterprise along progressive lines since the termination of the partnership and given himself whole-heartedly to the interests of the public.
His personnel is as interested as he in maintaining the high standards of service for which the founder's activities were known.

MANASSAS MOURNS DEATH OF RICHARD HYNSON

Oldest Native Resident;
Business And Civic Leader

With the death of Richard Stewart HYNSON at the age of 78, Manassas lost its oldest native-born resident. Mr. HYNSON died Sunday afternoon, September 2, at his residence on East Street, where he had been in failing health for the last month.
The deceased, son of Charles Lemuel and Ann Eliza (Stewart) HYNSON of Manassas, was born August 14, 1867, on board a Chesapeake Bay boat which was taking his mother to her former home in Baltimore. Surviving him are his wife, the former Esther GIBSON of Upperville, Virginia to whom he was married September 11, 1890; two sons, John L. and Richard Bruce, and a daughter, Mrs. Stewart SLAYBAUGH, all of Manassas. He leaves also a granddaughter, Mrs. Murray W. (Esther Warren) BRADSHAW and a great-grandson, Richard Kendrick BRADSHAW, both of Rockville, Maryland.
Mr. HYNSON was a graduate of Bethel Military Academy of Warrenton. For over fifty years he carried on a dry-goods business which was founded in Manassas by his father in 1866. The original store was operated in a building later destroyed by fire, which was located on the corner where the Prince William Hotel now stands.
A member of the Manasseh Masonic Lodge 182, the Knights Templars, and the Alamas Temple of the Mystic Shrine, Richmond, Mr. HYNSON was a charter member and past-president of the local Kiwanis club and a director of the National Bank of Manassas, of which he was also a former vice-president and of which his father was one of the founders. The Maryland-Virginia Milk Producers Association, of which he was one of the founders and early directors, owes its existence largely to the tireless efforts of Mr. HYNSON in the early days of its organization.
He had served on the Board of Stewards and as superintendent of the Sunday School of Grace Methodist Church, where the funeral services were conducted by the pastor, Rev. F. M. DRAPER, on Tuesday, September 4, at 3 p.m., followed by interment with Masonic rites in the Manassas Cemetery.
The pall-bearers were Fred R. HYNSON, Hunton TIFFANY, Ira CANNON, Hawes E. DAVIES, Sr., E. R. CONNER, and Sedrick SAUNDERS. Acting as honarary pall-bearers were C. A. SINCLAIR, R. M. WEIR, R. C. HAYDON, H. P. DAVIS, W. E. TRUSLER, E. G. PARRISH, R. L. BYRD, D. J. ARRINGTON, M. Bruce WHITMORE, A. H. ROSEBERRY, James R. DORRELL, B. C. CORNWELL, Randolph EAGLE, Frank COX, Dr. John IDEN, Dr. E. H. MARSTELLAR, Dr. Stewart McBRYDE, Dr. George B. COKE, Dr. E. B. MONCURE, M. LEVINE of Washington, D. C., and C. T. RICE of Oakton, Va.
"Dick" HYNSON will long be remembered for his benevolent and generous heart, his cheerful wit and sense of humor, his retentive memory, and fund of reminiscences of the early days of Manassas and Prince William County in whose history he, as his father before him, played an important part.

ARTICLE I
1. "Survuve me" is to be construed to mean that the person referred to must survive me by thirty days. If the person referred to dies within thirty days of my death, the reference to him shall be construed as if he had failed to survive me.
2. Words which import one gender shall be applied to any gender where appropriate.
ARTICLE II
1. I hereby make, constitute and appoint A. J. PETERSEN of Manassas, Virginia, as Executor of this my Last Will and Testament, and I request that there be no surety required on his bond. 2. I direct that all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid out of my estate as soon as practicable after my death. If at my death, readily available cash and liquid assets are not sufficient to meet all of the specific bequests, it is my desire nevertheless that my Executor take such action as is necessary so that debts and other expenses as well as all taxes, inheritance and federal estate taxes and any and all other charges and expenses against my estate, be charged against and paid out of the residue of my estate.

7. I devise and bequeath the sum of $5,000.00 in cash to Grace Irene HARRIS, provided she survives me.
