Lt Col Drury Stith lived for some time in Prince George Co unty and later
in New Brunswick County. In 1726 he was Justice of the county. The
records of Brunswick County show that he was qualified as Clerk of the
c ounty on May 11, 1732 while also holding the position of of County
Surveyor . He was also interested in copper mining as referenced in Col
William Byrd' s "History of the Dividing Line" where he gives a humorous
account of Col Dru ry Stith and his mine.
